2008年5月-2009年5月,被邀请到荷兰瓦格宁根大学的Alterra研究所做访问学者。派出期间,参加了中荷政府间水资源创新管理合作项目“基于遥感方法的中国干旱监测与预测研究“。研究了基于遥感时间序列数据的干旱信息提取方法,设计并完成了针对多源遥感时间序列数据进行管理、处理和分析的软件。研究及软件开发工作受到认可和肯定。

2014年1月- 2014年12月, 在国家留学基金委的资助下赴澳大利亚悉尼理工大学植被与气候变化研究中心交流访问一年。
